Vijay's dual role names: Vijay is playing a dual role , his character names are Jeevanantham and Kathiresan.

Connection between the two roles:Unlike most of the dual role movies, here the link between Vijay's two character is not father-son relationship

Samantha's character: Samantha plays a character called Ankitha and her role will bring energetic flavor to the film.

Anirudh's theme music: Before even hearing the story, music director Anirudh has composed the theme music of Kaththi.

How Kaththi happened: Soon after AR Murugadoss narrated Kaththi's script, Vijay got excited and texted him "Superna". AR Murugadoss says Vijay didn't even reacted during the script narration Thuppakki because Kaththi will be a different film in Vijay's career.

Why the title Kaththi? :Kaththi is not a gangster movie, the film will start and end in Chennai. AR Murugadoss says "There is a saying that Knife is the first instrument ever produced by human and Kaththi's plot will justify the saying".
